Hello! I'm Joyce, and I'm currently a sophomore university student. I've been working on this for the past two weeks or so but didn't make a post! ? But here are my updates and WIP! I'm kind of making my character as I sculpt, so there's not a concept art I'm basing on. Here's a collection of design docs and inspirations:

the basic blockout. Knowing that my character will have baggy pants I only did the lockout for the upper body

I brought the blockout into Maya to manually retopologize it before further sculpting. I also did the clothing blackouts in Maya-- my personal goal for this is to have this character also be usable in real-time(in-game), so this seemed like a step that will become helpful later 🙂

Also, I should note that I was using the Zbrush IMM brushes as placeholders for the hand and feet, which later I replaced with my own.

Back into Zbrush, blocked out the rest of the body and pants. Also, put the hood onto the character 😛 (This is done around Jan 13th)

Again, into Maya to retopologize before doing anything else. I also blocked out the shoulder armor and waist decorations in Maya. (Jan 15th)

Retopologized the hood so I have cleaner geometry to work with! Also modeled all the hard surface-ish details in Maya. Man, this was a lot more work than I expected! (Jan 17th)

I tweaked some details on the face and proportions. I'm starting to add more details to the fabrics on the model as well.

Finished modeling most parts of the character! I'll do further sculpting after posing

Here's a block out of the pose. I like it a lot and think I'll stick with it :))

Think I am finally done with the sculpt and will finally start texturing. I made some final adjustments to the post, adjusted some proportions and added details that will hopefully show up in the final render!

I've submitted my final submission! Here are the render passes, and I compiled them in photoshop with some hand-painted effects.
